Reflection Of Balloon Car Race

On the 12/11/20 in hub rata we had a task to create a balloon car. Rilen, Kyle an I made a car to Enter the contest  to win the race.

We spend around 10 mins planning what our car would look like. Then we got to the building part we spent around 15 mins getting things really. Then the last 5 mins were just rush we were grabbing every thing smacking it on the can and sellotaping everything on the car then every one lined up it was time. Kyle on the starting line blowing up the car to its max. Letting it go it started slow and in its mind it was like "I AM SPEED!" It was going as fast it can and it won!

Turanganai Kapa Haka Festival!!!!!!

 PSHHHHHHHH the bus stoped. Wai and Nui syndicate were at the Turanganui Kapa Haka Festival.  It was an amazing day. We hopped off the bus, got into our lines then...  BUZZ a bee got its stinger ready and pounced. Pain began, it was throbbing. Wai syndicate was first so we started our travel to the hall to watch them do there kapa haka. They began to sing there sing was awesome the song I liked the best was ata marie. When they finished, we left to get ready and got our piupiu on . It was frezzeing in the piupiu.

It was our turn to shine. We went back stage ready we heard every one cheering. (I had butterflies in my stomach) Nui took the walk on to the stage. I began to sing Tu mai ra with Hunter as the kiea. He began we were away. After 4 song the boys started to sing utaina haka. The boys began to come through it was the 3rd best part of the show.


The haka started "Taringa Whakarongo Titiro mai ki au Hi au au aua ha. Hi!, Ko wai tatou? Ko wai tatou? Hi au au aua ha. Hi! Te Kura o Wainui e? Te Kura o Wainui e? Hi au au aua ha. Hi! I a ha ha! E tu mai, nga rangatahi O te kura o Wainui e I a ha ha! Ka tu te ihi, ihi ka tu te-wanawana Ki runga i te rangi E tu iho nei, tu iho nei. HI! Pukana" We sang. It was a beautiful I was proud of my self.

Sweet and Sour

This week my reading group has been using the sweet and sour kit. In this blog post you will show you what we did in this kit.

On Wednesday we did a activity called sweet and sour. We were exploring the chemicals to see what pH level it was.My reading group first got a tube and put some water in it and sat back down. Then we got a spoon and put some baking soda on it and got a dropper got so water in the dropper and put it on the spoon. Then we put the indicator paper in the liquid and then a colour would tell you if it is a acid or a base. We used a indicator paper to see if it was. We also were seeing if it was a acid or a base we had baking soda, icing sugar, flavour raro,citric acid and vinegar. We found out that 2 of them were bases and the rest were acids.


In our 3 experiment we made a pH indicator with a red Cabbage that came with the box. We first riped a leaf of red cabbage and put it in a plastic bag. After that we went to go get some hot water in our bag. We had to squished the bag so that the cabbage went every were. Then we put  some of the cabbage into the test tubes. Then we put the test things into the cabbage water to find out what was a acid or a base they changed colours instently. We figered out that 2 of then were acids and 2 of them were bases. I was surprised that it was a pH indicator.

GEGNZ

On August 22  I'm going to Auckland with 7 other kids in my class to the GEGNZ Google Summit . It is going to really fun in Auckland we will be going up there in a van. In Auckland we will be teaching other kids and other kids will be teaching us. In class we are working on a slide show that we will show in the room. In Auckland in the google place.It will be really fun and good achievement.

The House of Science

In W1 my reading group was doing a science experiment. We were learning about climate change. We learnt that there is 4 sphere the sphere are Atmosphere, Biosphere, Geo sphere and Hydrosphere and if one of those start to break the earth would start to break. Say if the biosphere started to break the plants would die and the animals wont have a place to live then they die. If  the plants would die and we would not have any food so we will die.

Our experiment was that we had a balloon and we put some salt water and food colouring in and froze it over night that made it to ice. After 1 day we pooped the balloon and cot a bucket. We put water in the bucket and put the ice. Did you know that if ice melts in the water the water wont get higher that's what I found out from our experiment. It was a relly cool experiment I wish i could do another one like that

Today has been a sad day lazerbeam has died. The crime happened on 27 of June 5:36 pm. Koka Ngaire had a hard time. Bob was caught killing lazerbeam on the table it looked like lazerbeam was trying to go get his food that he planted by a rock but Bob and his friend thats N.K  the victim looked like his leg get his left leg bit off so bob got him on the left leg and arm there was blood on the scene. It looked like that he was going to go get food but it was winter so was lazerbeam trying to kill the dinos? It looked like that the dinos came from behind so it is confirmed

Musem trip to the Electric village

1/2 weeks ago we went to the E village/ Retro tech museum We started our journey to it.                             

                                                                       

                                                           20 minutes later....

We arrived at our destination we had a leader take us for a tour about the E vechile's like:
E motorbike, E bike and E farm bike then we talked a but how to make power with the turbines.
Next we got to go on an electric scooter and with a robot that you can control, On our way out we got to get a lollipop.Then we started our walk to the retro tech museum it was so fun that day.

Treasure hunt in the rain!

On Thursday It was a rainy day. We were doing a coordinates hut, But in the rain. We had to go in Buddy's. We went to go put 5 boards out that had a letter on each board my word was
(Hello) I went out in the rain and put boards in a coordinate we had a map of the school and put the coordinates on it and let our buddys and found them at tryed to figer out the words that with the letters on the boards. My buddy (Santy) found all the letters and figer out the word. We were the first one to get the word done and sit down. That day was so FUN!

Going to Camp Kaitawa

On Monday it was the day to camp. There was lots of packing on the day before. It was really exiting and I could not wait to go. My family were happy that I was going to camp but my baby brother was crying because I was not going to play with him at home at all he was so happy when I came to pick him up with my dad. My baby brother was like "YAY, Bjorn" He shouted, it was amazing.

The True Story of the three Little Pigs By Jon Scieszka

One day we were doing a play it was called 'The True Story of the three Little Pigs'. It was really fun. It took us a long time to practice it. We got it done in the end. We had to use teamwork, and listen to each other while we were reading.
We used screencastify to video it. We had a flicker person that flicked the pages so that we could see pictures. I had so much FUN.

Kapa Haka festavl 2018

I woke up and kenw it was the Kapa Haka festival. I was a leader for the haka for our school. There were four of us. We first watched some of the preformers. We watched Wai syndicate from our school perform first. Then we went to go and get changed. "It is going to be fun," I whisped to myself. We had to have 5 buses to get from the school and and back. IT WAS SO FUN :)

Two more minutes thats all I need mum. I need to oh... Hi I'm Bjorn, ok where was I in my story?.. Ok, it was a dark stormy night and a kid named Globe was going to save a boat 150km off the coast of New Zealand. It was a cruise ship, it had hundreds of people on it . He flew over to the crusie ship, he saw a big rock and hit it!

It was sinking really fast. He quickly lifted the boat and took it to the harbour, he waited for the shore people to say that he could come in to the harbour. He waited for everone to get off. After that he fixed the boat and put it back into the water.
It was a good save. :D

School Craft Fair

This weekend our school is having a craft fair.  It is so we can raise money to get new stuff. Our class is making skate board holders, mini poi and jewelery.  We made some beautiful necklaces out of: green stone, pāua, clear quartz, amethyst and rose quartz. The craft fair is on Saturday the 17th of November 2018.
